About LauraLynn

LauraLynn was founded in 2001 by Jane and Brendan McKenna after their daughters, Laura (4) and Lynn (15), tragically passed away within two years of each other.

Having had personal experience of the lack of respite or specialist care for children with life-limiting conditions, Jane and Brendan established the LauraLynn Foundation and dreamed of building a hospice dedicated to their daughters’ memory. LauraLynn Children’s Hospice was opened in 2011 and since then has provided free care and support to hundreds of children and families from all over Ireland.
LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Care can be delivered in the hospice, in hospital, in the community, or in the family home. Last year, 374 children and families from every corner of Ireland availed of LauraLynn care, supports and activities.

LauraLynn’s holistic approach to care ensures they support the whole family, enabling patients to be children and parents to be ‘Mums and Dads’ rather than full-time carers.
